We were so lucky to be able to celebrate two wonderful years with Halle-girl last week. She is such a sweet, funny, stubborn, tough, knows-what-she-wants kinda girl. We love her so, so much. The day we celebrated her birthday was the first of a long, long week of sick days for her. (Thus the jammies and fro hair in the birthday pictures.) :-) She is just starting to feel better, but it has been rough for all involved!
{Halle: 1 day old}
{Birthday girl on her last birthday}
{We gave her a cute little purple and sparkly stuffed horse. The very first thing she did after opening it was to run over to the toy box to find a transformer to ride on the horse...}
{We also gave her pink sparkly princess shoes. After not being successful in putting them on her new horse, she figured she could at least get them on her dad's feet!}
{At each child's birthday, I love creating a cake for them. I have fun planning it and then actually preparing it. For Halle's I spent a lot of time and enjoyed my time (I won't say how long, but it was pretty long!) making her pink and zebra print cake. (Yes, I realize that it's not actually for her but for me as she wouldn't care what it looks like!) I was happy with the final product, covered it with the lid, and put it on the table behind me so I could clean the counter. Not two minutes later, I turned around to see it on the floor. Halle had tried to pick it up, and it had fallen upside down. These pictures do not show adequately how smooshed and damaged it really was. It was pretty awful! Someday I hope I look back and think it's funny! I'm still waiting... :-)}
{Here's the sweet, rascal girl with her birthday cake. She didn't care that it was smashed up and was still excited to blow out her candles. It did taste good, though!! It was chocolate cake with caramel filling and white chocolate buttercream frosting. YUM!}
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, sweet baby! We love you, girl!!

I am so impressed with your baking skills. Seriously. And I'm also impressed with how chill you sound after your cake dropped! Someday I'm sure it will be funny, but I am cringing for you!!!! :)
I love that girl. And in case you need proof - the fact that I let her try her princess shoe on me sould do. Let someone else try that and see :).
The cake was lovely... even smashed it was stunning. :)
Love that girl! It was so great to visit and get to know her better. We are so looking forward to seeing you all this summer.
Oh my goodness...a smashed pink and zebra cake, a heavenly mother, and a little girl, who had a little curl, right in the middle of her forhead...and when she was good, she was verrry, verrry good; and whe she was bad, she was horrid!
